Commitment to Community
Being a leader in our industry means more than building the largest portfolio or winning the biggest contracts. At F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen, we believe leadership starts with a commitment to our community and to being a responsible corporate citizen.
We back up our commitment to community in several key ways:
We donate our time, talent and resources to a broad range of charitable events and organizations such as the Leukemia Research Foundation, the City of Chicago’s Principal for a Day Program, Beard School Special Olympics, and various food drives to feed the hungry.
We are a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council and currently boast more than fifteen LEED Accredited professionals on staff. As the General Contractor who performs the largest volume of municipal infrastructure work in the city of Chicago, we’ve developed deep expertise on several LEED Silver and Gold certified projects.
We have a longstanding record of hiring local, disadvantaged and minority subcontractors and utilizing our experience and expertise to help them develop their businesses and take advantage of new opportunities for growth.
And we are an active member of many advocacy organizations—with an emphasis on “active”. We serve on boards and committees, host events and participate in events on every level to assist minority trade organizations in realizing and achieving their goals. We have been honored for our commitment to these local players, again and again.
We are committed to the following community organizations:
- ACE Tech Charter High School
- Black Contractors United
- Coalition for United Community Action
- Commission on Chicago Landmarks
- Federation of Women Contractors
- Hispanic American Construction Industry Association
- Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association
- Richard H. Driehaus Foundation
- El Valor
- Paschen Engineering Scholars
